You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe OpenShift Virtualization team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer. In this role you will work on industry leading technologies such as Red Hat OpenShift KubeVirt Libvirt and Qemu to ensure that we produce the highest quality management system for virtual machines. Youll be responsible for all aspects of quality for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization including designing test plans extending automation frameworks developing new automated tests and maintaining existing ones. You will make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality performance usability and supportability. As a Quality Engineer you will gain a deep technical understanding of a variety of popular technologies including Virtualization containers Kubernetes Red Hat OpenShift.

Execute manual and automated tests for OpenShift Virtualization and deliver clear status in a timely manner.
Conduct failure analysis explore identify and document new bugs advocate for the resolution of bugs and communicate the impact on customers to developers and support.
Represent the customer voice in front of developers and help them understand how consumers of our software may engage with it.
Coordinate crosscomponents teams to be responsible for bug verification regression testing.
Work with the product release teams to be responsible for the product delivery related testing;
Design develop and maintain automation frameworks CI and scripts with Python and Golang for OpenShift Virtualization testing and implementation
Participate in the test planning and product planning processes
Conduct new feature research and design test cases
Explore identify and document new bugs. Advocate for the resolution of bugs and communicate the impact on customers to developers and support
Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
Work in a fastpaced Agile global environment of talented Quality Engineers
Provide mentoring and leadership to junior Quality Engineers
2 years of professional experience working in QE or similar roles
Programming skills in Python shell Golang or another programming language
Ability to work Hybrid in Raleigh NC Boston MA or Lowell MA
Knowledge of the Linux operating system (any distribution)
Testing experience working with globally distributed team members
Familiarity with DevOps testing methodologies and techniques
Motivated and dedicated to learning and collaboration
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and learn quickly
Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
The following are considered a plus:
Familiarity with virtualization
Knowledge of Linux containers Kubernetes Red Hat OpenStack Platform or Red Hat OpenShift
Knowledge of CI/CD and Jenkins
Knowledge of security testing
Contributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location experience applicable skills and training external market value and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hats compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus commission and/or equity. For positions with RemoteUS locations the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
