As a Senior Controls Engineer you will lead the design development and implementation of complex automation systems including PLC DCS HMI and SCADA platforms. You will guide a team of engineers to deliver end-to-end control system solutions from conceptual design to commissioning and client support. Your leadership and technical expertise will be key to securing repeat business and building strong client partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineering teams in delivering automation solutions
- Design control system architectures and select appropriate hardware/software components
- Develop and program PLC DCS RTU controllers and HMI/SCADA visualization systems
- Implement industrial networking solutions using Ethernet/IP Profinet Modbus and more
- Create detailed electrical schematics and control panel designs compliant with NEC standards
- Oversee project management tasks including budgeting scheduling and profitability tracking for projects up to $1M
- Troubleshoot and resolve field device/equipment issues
- Collaborate directly with clients to identify needs and ensure satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Control Mechanical Chemical Engineering or Computer Science
- 10 years of hands-on Controls Engineering experience
- Proficiency with PLC programming languages (Ladder Sequential Function Chart Structured Text)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development using platforms like ICONICS Genesis64 Wonderware GE CIMPLICITY Rockwell FactoryTalk View Schneider Siemens
- In-depth knowledge of PLC hardware/software: Rockwell Automation Siemens Modicon
- Familiarity with DCS platforms such as Emerson DeltaV preferred
- Skilled in industrial communication protocols: Ethernet/IP Profinet Modbus
- Experience in VBA Power BI Grafana and API integrations
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills with project management experience
- Background in Semiconductor Life Sciences Building Automation Food & Beverage Oil & Gas Mining or Water/Wastewater industries
- Ability to design electrical schematics and control panels under 480VAC
- Local to Albuquerque NM or with strong ties to the area
