The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the timely and qualitative of Accounting Operations in the area of General Accounting and contribute to the reliability of the Group Financial Statements in their scope of responsibility by applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) guidelines thereby allowing a certification by external auditors.
Major Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide General Accounting expertise and advise Business and site Controlling on accounting topics
- Provide external and internal audit support. Perform ICS controls within own area of expertise and responsibility. Ensure accurate external Group Financial Statements without audit findings.
- Rebate accounting analysis and review
- Intangible & fixed asset inuse analysis
- Accounting for nonincome tax audits
- Subject matter expert on grosstonet including revenue recognition posting
- Catalyst Accounting
- Vendor check printing; Processing of misc. check deposits
- Backup for various Transactional Accounting activities
- Analyze accounts and prepare reconciliations
- Specialized ad hoc support and project support specific to own area of expertise
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors in Finance Accounting or Business with 3 years of related experience; OR a Masters with 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprisewide business systems (FI/CO modules of SAP)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Crossdepartmental accounting experience or multiple function experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Substantial knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or US GAAP and internal controls. Ability to apply them to a range of situations with varying degrees of complexity.
- Capability to identify and anticipate problems independently develop alternative & innovative solutions and make wellinformed decisions within scope of responsibility
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy initiative and reliability
- Ability to communicate effectively and promptly at most levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on teams and promote a team approach. Executes assigned actionsDemonstrated leadership skills required to lead teams and/or projects
- Ability to meet strict deadlines which requires flexibility and willingness to work overtime as needed especially during monthly closings and annual planning cycles
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to travel up to 10 or as projects dictate
