40Summary:
Qualify potential donors and develop relationships between Cook Childrens and prospects for philanthropic gifts of $25000 or more; cultivate and solicit friends grateful patient families and organizations for significant gifts to fund identified campaign and/or health care system priorities. Supervise Development staff manage program budget and provide leadership and direction for gift cultivation and solicitation.
Qualifications:
Work requires communications analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelors degree program.
810 years of experience required in high level fund raising marketing or related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer coordinate and/or participate in major gifts fund raising activities and proposal development OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. **May consider direct fundraising experience of 20 plus years in lieu of a degree.**
Experience managing capital campaigns or major fundraising initiatives preferred.
The position requires strong writing and editing skills with the ability to articulate accurately and persuasively the themes and issues associated with a pediatric medical center and health care system.
The individual must be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues inside and outside the Foundation.
Familiarity with the local community is strongly preferred.
A high level of analytical ability and a multitasked manner of thinking are required.
The successful candidate must be selfmotivated and directed possessing excellent administrative skills high motivation and a proven ability to produce results in a highly deadlineoriented environment.
Other required attributes include independence reliability accuracy and expedience in addressing duties as well as the ability to handle pressure to meet deadlines and to do so with a minimum of supervision or instruction.
A strong team orientation toward both internal and external constituencies is required.
The successful candidate must be independent accurate reliable and a fast worker.
Ability to learn new software is necessary.
Certification/Licensure:
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred.
