About the role:
Our Research and Development team takes realtime signals from our IoT devices deployed in vehicles and processes them to help our customers make their vehicle fleets safer greener and more efficient. As an Engineering Manager at Samsara you will lead teams to develop features that have a tangible impact on active and future customers. Youll hire and develop your team define project plans and roadmaps and work with your engineers to define nextgeneration technology across our platform.
We use Golang for our backend Typescript and React for our web client GraphQL to fetch data from our backend and React Native for our mobile app. Direct experience with these technologies is not required.
This is a remote position open to candidates based in the United Kingdom. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role you will:
- Participate with senior leadership and crossfunctional peers to develop a longterm roadmap and strategy for Samsaras telematics feature sets
- Collaborate with senior engineers to drive technical strategy
- Set quarterly goals and balance product/engineering priorities for maximum impact
- Drive planning and on the roadmap delivering features and infrastructure enhancements to delight customers
- Set a highstandard for the reliability of your components
- Champion role model and embed Samsaras cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success Build for the Long Term Adopt a Growth Mindset Be Inclusive Win as a Team) as we expand and scale our mobile presence (more apps across more geographies)
- Hire develop and lead an inclusive engaged and highperforming team
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Experience building scalable missioncritical SaaS applications
- Experience operating maintaining and improving upon large scale application services
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening speaking and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse teamfocused environment
- Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love
- Proven record of attracting toptalent and coaching the team
- 8 years of relevant software engineering work experience
- 3 years of handson technical management experience
- You speak English proficiently
An ideal candidate also has:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Experience building customerfacing web and mobile workflow applications
