Senecas hiring a Special Education Teacher to provide multigrade standardsbased instruction and academic interventions to grades 512 students at James Baldwin Academy in San Leandro CA. Our Special Education Teachers ensure students needs are met within the guidelines of the Individualized Educational Program (IEP) and the Treatment Plan and they foster successful environments where students strengths are celebrated and their needs addressed with a variety of targeted interventions. As a teacher youll have the opportunity to collaborate with a team including School Therapists Classroom Counselors and Educational Leaders to transform education into a model that connects diverse students to therapeutic services community resources and an outstanding academic curriculum.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement academic behavioral and therapeutic services for special education students with emotional disturbances
- Use backwards design principles to deliver a differentiated curriculum rooted in state content standards
- Use studentcentered instructional methods as defined by the schools Learning Principles
- Employ authentic and normreferenced assessment strategies to monitor progress and guide instructional planning and decision making
- Provide individualized academic intervention programs to target atrisk learners
- Engage caregivers in the educational process providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs
- Colead the classroom team to maintain a structured therapeutic learning environment based on Senecas philosophy
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree AND
- Candidatesmust possess a California Education Specialist teaching credential (Intern Credential or Education Specialist Credential)
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without any restrictions
- Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting spots
- TB test clearance fingerprints and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements
- Proof of COVID19 vaccination
Schedule
- School based schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM 4 PM
- 5 weeks of paid time off 11 paid holidays and 33 paid school break days

- Starting salary is dependent on the teachers credentials:
- Special Education Teacher on an Intern Education Specialist credential $72100 $85000
- Special Education Teacher on fully licenced Education Specialist credential $76220 $90220
