Position Summary
Oregon Institute of Technology a premier public polytechnic university in the Pacific Northwest invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Computer Systems Engineering Technology department. Oregon Tech is one of the top public regional universities in the western United States and is consistently ranked among the top public universities in the nation by US News & World Report. Oregon Tech offers innovative and rigorous degree programs. A qualified applicant should have a strong background in C as that is our departments primary language. Specific skills we are looking for include network programming and cloud development. As a small department faculty are expected to teach freshman through senior level classes. This individual would also be expected to cover classes from some of the following areas: data structures design patterns software engineering methodologies or project management. To be clear we are not expecting one individual with all of these skillsets but these are the areas where we could use some additional help. While the primary job duties are teaching and advising this tenure track position has additional institutional and professional development expectations that allow for a robust professional work environment. Professional development may include but is not limited to the publication of scholarly works applied research collaboration with industrial partners grant writing or consulting activities. Institutional service may include oncampus committee membership and participation in departmental initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of relevant industry experience. Experience teaching in higher education.
