    PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    The Child Nutrition Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of food service equipment.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    High School Graduate or GED
    Electrical Journeymans license preferred
    Electrical Master license preferred
    Knowledgeable in equipment repair
    Minimum five 5 years experience with reputable company
    Able to read blueprints and schematics
    Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and be insurable
    Capable of working well with others

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    • Responsible for the maintenance and operation of child nutrition equipment.
    • Responsible for reporting any deviation from normal operation of the equipment to the Director of Child Nutrition.
    • Responsible for implementing a preventive maintenance program for the Child Nutrition Department.
    • Responsible for ordering and receiving equipment parts and supplies.
    • Responsible for parts and supplies inventory.
    • Observes safety practice at all times in performing duties.
    • Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    EQUIPMENT USED:
    • District vehicles electric power tools telephone calculator and computer large and small kitchen equipment to include but not limited to: electric slicer mixer pressure steamer braising pans sharp cutting tools ovens dishwashers and food utility carts

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
    • Strenuous walking standing and/or climbing heavy lifting and carrying working inside and outside exposure to extreme weather conditions working in high places working on slippery or uneven walking surfaces working on ladders and scaffolding
