The Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD) is charged with enforcing Colorados antidiscrimination laws in the areas of employment housing and public accommodations. The Division promotes the awareness of civil rights laws through training education and outreach efforts to groups and individuals across the state. The Division works in cooperation with federal and local agencies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development/Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (HUD/FHEO) as well as community based organizations that promote and protect civil rights. Additionally the CCRD is charged with investigating claims of illegal discrimination. The intake work unit exists to assist potential parties with completing the Divisions intake process as related to filing of formal complaints of discrimination in accordance with all relevant laws and internal processes and procedures.
Position:SDA 3201
The position performs interviews of potential complainants and is responsible for the drafting of formal complaints of discrimination when appropriate and keeps all legal requirements. The responsibilities of an intake specialist position is to complete intake assignments as needed including: explaining the administrative process directly to potential parties; reviewing intake submissions conducting intake interviews and drafting records; making jurisdictional assessments regarding the ability for the Division to lawfully investigate the claims asserted; preparing draft complaints; and issuing letters detailing any lack of jurisdiction and inability to proceed with a formal complaint
