This position is a graduate resident (student position). The resident learns clinical spiritual care provision under supervision while working as a chaplain. The position is contingent upon the students continuing progress in meeting the goals of our Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) curriculum. Chaplain Residents provide pastoral care to patients visitors and team members in UnityPoint Health Des Moines hospitals. They provide consultation to the treatment team on the spiritual and emotional issues affecting patient care. They offer spiritual care that enhances patient adjustment to illness and treatment eases stress associated with hospitalization and contributes to satisfaction of patients and visitors. They learn excellence in clinical ministry in an established and accredited CPE program.

Education:Baccalaureate Degree. Masters Degree and 1 successfully completed unit of CPE required. Masters Degree preferred in areas of theological study
Experience: Experience in clinical chaplaincy congregational ministry or other directly applicable work preferred.
