Overview
Younker 5 is a 22 bed Renal Transplant and Urology unit specializing in medical surgical patients. We have the only transplant center in Central Iowa and take pride in caring for this specific patient population. You will have the opportunity to become transplant certified after 12 months of hire if you wish through the American Board of Transplant Certification. Our hard-working team is thoroughly committed to offering a multidisciplinary approach to patient centered care involving achievement on best patient outcomes and safe discharge plans.

Responsibilities
The Unit supervisor: Provides leadership as part of unit management team. Coordinates unit management activities in conjunction with manager/director. Facilitates unit staff development in collaboration with manager/director. Carries out the day-to-day operation plan of the unit under the direction of the manager/director. Serves as a resource to other health team members on the assigned unit. Works collaboratively with other departments to facilitate cost effective health care. The patients to be served may include: infant pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients. Assumes patient care assignment based on unit needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Preferred or Specialized
Education:
Bachelors degree upon hire.
BSN
Experience:
One year experience as a registered nurse.
Experience in specialty area.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current Iowa license as a registered nurse.
Current BCLS (CPR)
Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional educational and lifestyle backgrounds.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
