Term Position:
September 1 2025 for up to 3 years (June 30 2028 subject to annual budget approval annual system organization and Ministry funding continuance.
Position Summary:
The Itinerant STEM Teacher will be responsible to the Superintendent of Education or designate. This position will expand and enhance integrated Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics learning across the system. The Itinerant STEM Teacher will work with school principals and the Student Achievement Consultant: STEM Instruction K 8 in collaborating and delivering Science Technology and Mathematics Curriculum through a Design Thinking framework.
The Itinerant STEM Teacher must be willing to travel to locations throughout the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant Haldimand and Norfolk.
Qualifications:
In order to be considered you must hold the qualifications at the time of application.
Basic*: Primary/Junior Divisions or Junior/Intermediate Divisions or Primary/Intermediate Divisions
Additional: Additional Qualifications in Mathematics and/or Science and/or Technology (Specialist preferred)
Experience: Experience in Mathematics and Science Curricula
Other: Demonstrated understanding of effective assessment practices (e.g. Growing Success);
Demonstrated knowledge of 21st Century Competencies and innovative pedagogy;
Ability to integrate technology into teaching/learning opportunities (e.g. coding robotics);
Knowledge of Design Thinking;
Strong organization skills;
Strong interpersonal communication and facilitation skills; and
Ability to work collaboratively be flexible and creative and innovative in their teaching and learning practices.
