Description
The Tour Coordinator/Enrollment Counselor reports to the Director of Admissions and is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all campus tours family/individual visits and open house/high school visitation days. Select and supervise student ambassadors and tour guides. The candidate will be responsible for representing Claflin University at recruitment fairs and college day/night programs. Disseminate enrollment materials and information to prospective students parents high school counselors churches alumni and other civic organizations both instate and outofstate at local and national fairs. Make decisions on admission of high school applicants; serve as the liaison between students and high school counselors; process freshman applications readmit applicants and transfer students; coordinate interviews and counseling sessions with prospective students and their parents; and assist with registration. Perform other related duties within scope of position as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree is required graduate of a fouryear college or university and at least one year experience working as an officer in enrollment in an enrollment office at postsecondary institution of higher learning; or equivalent combination of training and experience. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with people from various social educational and economic backgrounds. Must be able to work without constant supervision make sound decisions and have good moral judgment able to manage multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality. Must have an elevated level of professional appearance and demeanor and can maintain an important level of confidentiality. Candidate must be able to establish priorities work independently and utilize critical thinking skills. The successful candidate must have excellent presentations skills. Sales and marketing experience are a plus.
