Job Description
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Abuja
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant with at least 5 years of experience to manage and analyze cost structures improve financial efficiency and support strategic decisionmaking. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost analysis budgeting variance reporting and ensuring cost control across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze and track costs across production operations and inventory. Prepare detailed cost reports and recommend costsaving measures.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop cost estimates monitor budgets and provide insights on financial planning.
- Variance Analysis: Investigate cost discrepancies and identify trends impacting profitability.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Oversee inventory valuation ensure accurate cost allocation and optimize cost efficiencies.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency enhancements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with finance procurement and operations teams to align cost strategies with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (ICAN ACCA or CPA certification is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant preferably in manufacturing FMCG or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles financial reporting and budgeting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
