About The Literacy Lab
Since 2009 The Literacy Lab has worked with communities and school districts to provide evidencebased literacy interventions to more than 40000 children from marginalized communities to enhance their early literacy skills. The Literacy Lab is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to address inequities by providing students in communities experiencing racial and/or economic inequities with evidencebased culturally responsive literacy instruction as preparation for academic professional and personal success. We believe literacy is a human right. When we achieve our mission we will have created a more just society where all students have the literacy services needed to unlock educational opportunities and success in life.
If you believe literacy is a human right and want to ensure that all children excel as readers The Literacy Lab is the right next step for you!

They participate in a yearlong residencystyle program as early literacy tutors in PreKindergarten classrooms at traditional public schools charter schools and early learning centers. Fellows act as role models and change agents in their communities who support the growth of young learners to become strong lifelong readers while developing the skills resources and network to launch powerful careers of their own.
