Job Description
Site Engineer manages and supervises construction projects ensuring adherence to plans safety regulations and budget while also providing technical advice and overseeing the work of subcontractors and the site workforce.
Key Responsibilities of a Site Engineer:
Technical Expertise:
Interpret and apply engineering plans drawings and specifications.
Provide technical guidance and advice to subcontractors and site staff.
Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during construction.
Conduct site surveys levelings and setouts.
Ensure quality control and adherence to standards.
Project Management:
Manage site activities including scheduling resource allocation and task delegation.
Monitor project progress ensuring it stays on schedule and within budget.
Prepare and maintain site documentation reports and records.
Communicate effectively with clients project managers and other stakeholders.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Implement and enforce safety protocols on the construction site.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
Coordination and Communication:
Liaise with consultants subcontractors supervisors and other site personnel.
Attend project meetings and provide updates on progress.
Negotiate with vendors and contractors for materials and services.
Other Duties:
Prepare cost estimates and proposals.
Oversee the selection and requisition of materials.
May be involved in the design phase of projects.
Research the environmental impact of projects and incorporate ecofriendly features.
