Your Career

The Professional Services Consultant is an integral part of our mission within our Professional Services team. As a Consultant you will provide onsite and/or remote deployment and configuration expertise relating to Palo Alto Networks solutions. You will function as the products Subject Matter Expert and will interact directly with the customers personnel and project teams providing leadership technical direction interpretation and alternatives to our best practice deployment methodology. This is a highly technical handson role and you will develop and maintain expertise level skill sets on our products and solutions deployed within the customers environment.

As a Professional Services Consultant youll get into the details of our platform. You will push the buttons flip the levers turn the knobs. You do not shy away from difficult challenges as it relates to cybersecurity implementations and integrations. You are the technical authority and will interact directly with our customers to help them secure their digital environments. The customers are counting on you to perform this work and train their staff. And while experience on the companys platform is desired even more important is having a solid foundation in networking and security technologies.

In fact extensive experience with a competitors technology can play to your advantage. Many of the opportunities involve a client migrating to our platform for the first time so understanding the nuances of that technology will enable you to be a better Palo Alto Networks consultant. And dont worry we will send you to our Professional Services Academy to prepare you for the role so you are experienced with our suite of services and products before you first meet the customer. 

Your Impact

• Build and implement new architectures leveraging our security products and services

• Migrate customers from legacy hardware onto Palo Alto Networks products

• Create custom security policies and application signatures for unique client environments

• Implement network segment controls in accordance with NIST and RMF frameworks

• Troubleshoot integration issues perform debug analysis and mitigate threat events

• Maintain the implemented solutions and provide mentorship on code upgrades changes to the platform and new technology developments

• Validate and implement proof of concepts in lab environments

• Provide the customer with support on technical implementation and strategy communicated from engineering to Csuite executives

• Work dedicatedly with our Technical Assistance Center to troubleshoot and diagnose cases as escalations arise

Qualifications :

Your Experience 

• Must have expertise in two or more of the following Palo Alto Networks solutions:

  • Prisma Access

  • VM Series (AWS and/or Azure)

  • Prisma Access Browser

  • NextGeneration Firewall (NGFW)

• Strong skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing and TCP/IP networking

• Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity issues and maintaining operational environments

• Experience with classified transport networks and cloud providers including AWS GCP or Azure

• Experience with IDS/IPS solutions and technologies

• Strong understanding of VM/Public Cloud

• Experience leading security solutions in large environments

• Experience designing and implementing LANs and VLANs

• Understanding of various security threats internet protocols and applications

• Detailed technical experience in the installation configuration and operation of highend firewall appliances ideally our products

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confirmed ability to communicate with senior leaders and technical peers

• Project leadership experience; ability to drive organizations and resources to complete required tasks in service of end goals

• Experience with:

  • Cloud Security Assessment and Broker (CSAB)

  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

  • PANOS SDWAN

  • Internet of Things (IoT)

  • Strata Cloud Manager (SCM)

  • Automation and scripting for security deployments

Clearance Requirement

• Must have or be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications experience and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level the starting base salary (for nonsales roles) or base salary commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $0 $0/YR.
