The goal of the Visa Acceptance Platform is to be the worlds most open payment platform by delivering market leading globally relevant omnichannel acceptance componentry through open composable modular APIs delivered with Visagrade resilience security maintenance and scale.
We are seeking a dynamic Engineering Leader to lead our team of engineers who work on highperforming distributed systems. Our stack includes the Java Vertx platform Kafka for messaging RDBMS Cache for persistence fast access & the Kubernetes platform. The ideal candidate will have prior experience implementing distributed systems based on the Java platform and will be adept at designing resilient software solutions in collaboration with architects. This role requires a leader who is proficient with GenAI can enhance team productivity and is adaptable to tactical or strategic approaches. A key part of this role involves mentoring team members to foster career growth.

Responsibilities:

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 23 set days a week (determined by leadership/site) with a general guidepost of being in the office 50 or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications:
15 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree or with an advanced degree.
Demonstrable experience as a People Manager in a software engineering environment.
5 years in a leadership and management role
Extensive experience with designing and implementing distributed systems using Java Vertx platform Kafka messaging RDBMS persistence and Container platform.
Prior experience implementing mission critical resilient distributed systems with high availability based on the Java platform.
Proficiency in designing resilient software solutions in collaboration with architects.
Familiarity with GenAI and its practical applications.
Proven ability to enhance team productivity.
Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
Passion to understanding people and to always striving to improve our products and services
Ability to adapt to strategic or tactical approaches as per the situation.
