Position Summary: The Plant Accountant is a key member of the companys management team reporting to the Chief Operations Officer. Contributes to all areas of company management and provides strong financial leadership. The Plant Accountant is responsible for all accounting duties and tasks as well as planning and coordinating company budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The incumbent will provide financial analysis for the company and provide recommendations to improve performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Execute and manage all accounting operations including Billing A/R A/P G/L Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition Manage monthend closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for the company Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions Prepare forecasts of income statement balance sheets and statement of cash flows for the company Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve company objectives Integrates and trains new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team under their direct supervision 57 employees) Shares best practices across finance team e.g. process improvements financial modeling and procedures changes Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions. Collaborate with management to explain results make improvements manage projects identify inefficiencies understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity safeguard company assets and identify risks Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Practices. Monthly financial statement preparation
Monthly reconciliations all balance sheet accounts
Maintain copies of sales tax reports electronically
Monthly state withholding submission/verification all states

Insure we receive job budgets when applicable in APF and input into accounting system
Advise on inventory accounting practices as issues arise
Assist with inventory reconciliations and adjustments
Assist with accounting team processing and issue resolution
Update depreciation schedule for Dash as applicable
Monitor and review COBRA status/compliance with insurance carrier invoicing
Analyze income statement monthly for misclassifications and resolve
Other duties as assigned

Experience/Skills/Specific Knowledge/Education: At least 5 years experience in a similar position Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection Cost accounting experience Good planning and organizational skills Strong analytical skills Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines Ability to read analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business. Ability to effectively communicate with management public groups peers and staff. Excellent communication skills internally and with clients Ability to build relationships with colleagues clients and staff in charge Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization Must be a team player and act cooperatively with the business Ability to lead and motivate teams to reach a common goal Demonstrate strong and pragmatic business acumen Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
