This position may be filled as:- Temporary Job Appointment: This position may be filled by temporary job appointment not to exceed 48 months.
- Probational Appointment: Current permanent status classified State employees will be required to accept a probational appointment if selected.
- This vacancy is located at Capital Area Human Services Addiction Recovery Services (ARS)
- Licensure as either a Provisional or Licensed Professional Counselor or a Provisional or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is required. There is no substitution for this requirement.

- Professional Counselor 1 (pay grade level SS412 has a minimum salary of $18.38/hourly; $1470.40/biweekly.
- Professional Counselor 2(pay grade level SS413 has a minimum salary of $19.67/hourly; $1573.60/biweekly.
- Professional Counselor 3(pay grade level SS414 has a minimum salary of $21.05/hourly; $1684.00/biweekly.
- Professional Counselor 4(pay grade level SS415 has a minimum salary of $22.52/hourly; $1801.60/biweekly.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range:The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
No Civil Service test scoreis required in order to be considered for this vacancy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT).Job Concepts

PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL TASKS ARE INCLUDED.Obtains and prepares social histories of clients for information to be reviewed by treatment teams and for use in referrals to other agencies.Participates in the decision making process of the treatment team including formulating therapeutic activities and recommending a treatment plan.Provide group therapy and individual therapy to persons with addictive disorders and mental health.Performs intensive individual interviews with patients experiencing crises and multiple situational problems.Evaluates information in case records in order to recommend changes in psychosocial intervention.Performs goaldirected and supportive individual and group interviews with clients experiencing crises or multiple situational problems.Serves as liaison between the client family and the agency/institution.
