BC/BE Palliative/Hospice physician wanted to join a diverse IDT that includes chaplaincy social work RN and pharmacy support. Teaching opportunities for HPM fellow resident physicians as well as medical nursing and social work students. This diverse practice can be tailored to your clinical interests including an inpatient palliative medicine consulting service outpatient palliative clinic 16 bed inpatient hospice unit and homebased hospice visits. Shared call that is conducive to quality worklife balance.

The Palliative/Hospice Physician is primarily responsible for providing care services to the patient and his/her family to identify control or alleviate physical and emotional discomfort and other symptoms that often accompany a serious health condition. The Palliative/Hospice Physician must be able to hold intensive meetings with family members and ensuring that delivery of care is coordinated across the health care setting. The Palliative/Hospice Physicianworks closely with other clinicians in a team approach to patient care. The Palliative/Hospice Physicianis a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients administration and others he/she encounters both in person and on the phone.
The Palliative/Hospice Physician is accountable for activities that support meeting St. Elizabeth Physicians financial goals and objectives. The Palliative/HospicePhysicianis responsible to support all members of the Administrative and Management Teams.
Must have graduated from a professional school and completed in good standing an accredited postgraduate residency training program and completed a Palliative/Hospice fellowship. Must be able to obtain a state license in which you will practice as a Palliative/Hospice Physician. Must be and remain board certified (with a lapse of no longer than a year) in principal practice specialty or become and remain board certified (with a lapse of no longer than a year) within six years of completion of postgraduate medical training. Board certification must be recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.
