JOB TITLE:
Upward Bound Summer Program 2025 Foreign Language Instructor
JOB PURPOSE:
Design and deliver an ageappropriate fourweek foreign language curriculum taught to multiple grade levels that encompasses a range of participant ages and learning styles.
Dates of summer program (including training) are May 27thJuly 3rd 2025
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide cultural experiences to contextualize & facilitate participants understanding and use of the language including hosting at least one cultural event.
Connect the language to the country or countries in which it is spoken and discuss the culture in the/those location/s.
Provide an active studentcentered learning environment.
Must be available to teach Monday and Wednesday 12:30pm1:30pm as well as lead a cultural evening once during the summer to take place on Mondays from 6pm8:30pm that should include activities planned by you and your students related to the culture surrounding the language you are instructing.
Also attend at least 1 study hall session Mon Wed or Thurs. from 3pm5pm.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Junior standing at the undergraduate level majoring in the language you will teach or a completed minor; 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
Required education licensure certification registration or other requirements:
Successful criminal background check necessary for working with minors is required
