Job Description

The Manager of Academic Development will assist the Dean of the College of Health Science (CHS) in developing an array of healthcarerelated academic programs. The manager will provide integral support to the CHS dean school deans and program directors in all areas required for academic program development. These include but are not limited to the following: program accreditation applications research and market analysis curriculum documentation CHS academic calendar planning facility assessment missional and servicelearning programming consultant support community and partnership engagement report writing presentation development and other administrative functions. In particular the manager position will liaison between CHS and the University Registrars Office and Information Technology regarding program development and implementation on behalf of the CHS dean and school deans/program directors.

The work of the manager will be integral to the success of the College of Health Science and both its existing and developing programs. Duties

  • Under the direction of the Dean of of the College of Health Science as well as school deans and program directors manage the implementation of the Universitys healthcarerelated academic programs including but not limited to academic program documentation program organization and setup academic policies student services and curriculum development.
  • Serve a primary role in the accreditation licensure and regulatory approval process coordinating teams of experts and consultants to obtain all necessary approvals.
  • Assist with academic program development including market and needs analysis.
  • Coordinate community/partnership engagement including strategic partnerships with consultants and support the establishment of clinical sites for each program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and implement the mission and servicelearning programs.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: 2 year of work experience preferably in a higher education setting; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively; outstanding interpersonal skills; highly attentive to detail and thorough in developing and producing work products; high degree of competency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs suite of applications.

Preferred: Masters degree; prior experience supporting academic program and curriculum development or management; experience and knowledge of health care programs; understanding of academic accreditation processes; high degree of information literacy; experience data mining/gathering and synthesizing large amounts of information.

Qualified individuals should be able to articulate a strong commitment to diversity and have the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.

This is a Regular Exempt 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $70000 $82000 per year

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience market conditions education/training and skill level. In addition to base pay Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitivebenefits package.
