Renewable Performance Engineering Intern Renewable Energy

Exus is a nextgeneration Independent Power Producer that develops owns and operates renewable energy assets (Wind Solar and Battery Storage) while providing world class asset management services for over 5 GW of renewable energy assets to third parties. Exus has a proven track record of constructing and commercializing renewable energy assets and they are building their portfolio by acquiring and building utilityscale renewables projects and guiding those still in development through to full operational status. As part of Exus asset management business the firm undertakes full technical and commercial management of renewable energy portfolios worldwide. Exus draws on its wideranging expertise to optimize technical performance reduce financial risk and ensure longterm revenue certainty for their own and their clients renewable energy assets.

We are looking for a Renewable Performance Engineering Intern for our Summer 2025 intern program out of our Pittsburgh PA office. This is a paid fulltime position. Anticipated duration will be 810 weeks (June through August 2025. This position has the potential to transition into a fulltime role upon graduation.

The Performance Engineer Intern will be responsible for supporting the Technical Operations team to perform operational performance monitoring and development of advanced analytics. This internship will be projectbased and will require crossdepartmental coordination to successfully complete the project assigned. Additional supporting tasks related to performance monitoring operational reporting and upkeep of performance metrics associated with renewable energy assets will be required.

Internship Description and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in creating new advanced analytics tools per the defined internship project.
  2. Recommend (and aid in the creation of) any tasks that can be automated.
  3. Suggest modifications to data sources tables and processes to automate reports and analysis.
  4. Monitoring
    1. Utilize the internal SCADA systems to develop monitoring routines
    2. Perform daytoday monitoring on all assigned projects
    3. Identify any performance related issues
    4. Coordinate with Operations Engineers Asset Managers and BOP Site Managers to troubleshoot and resolve identified performance related issues
    5. Utilize internal advance analytics to monitor performance
Requirements:
  • An undergraduate Junior or Senior currently enrolled and attending an accredited college or university.
  • Willing to be in Pittsburgh PA for the duration of the intern program (this is an inoffice role).
  • Pursuing a bachelors degree in engineering computer sciences data sciences or other technically related field.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in Python Matlab R or other data analytical programming languages.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • SQL and API experience a plus.
