We have an immediate opening for an Industrial Electrician to join our growing team in Rosemount MN. Previous experience in a fastpaced industrial/production environment is preferred and we encourage 3rdyear apprentices with industrial equipment experience to apply.

What you will be doing:


As an Industrial Electrician at Spectro Alloys your role is critical to maintaining the smooth operation of our aluminum recycling plant. You will ensure that both the electrical and mechanical systems of our equipment are functioning at optimal levels minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Your expertise will be key in performing preventative maintenance troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring that safety and operational standards are consistently met.


On a daytoday basis youll work closely with the production team to inspect maintain and repair equipment across the plant from motor controls to hydraulics and pneumatics. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining accurate service work records conducting safety checks and ensuring a safe work environment at all times.


Your contributions will directly impact our plants efficiency and safety making this role both challenging and rewarding.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on the electrical and mechanical systems of plant equipment.
  • Inspect 3phase wiring and assess electrical components of rolling and portable equipment hydraulics pneumatics and motor controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues with production machinery.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks to ensure the safe operation of plant equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service work records.
  • Communicate with the production team and maintain a clean safe work area.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 5 years of electrical maintenance and PLC troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.
  • MN electrical maintenance license or ability to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.
  • Confined space and respirator certification (provided upon employment).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Basic computer proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 35 lbs frequently and occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs (with assistance).
  • Valid Drivers License

Other Desired Qualifications:

  • AS in Electronics or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC PLC 5 Slick 500 or ControlLogix.
  • Military electronics training is desirable.
  • HVAC furnaces and/or boiler electrical experience.
  • Automation and Robotics experience is a plus.

Requirements

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.


Education & Experience:

Required: 5 years of electrical maintenance and PLC troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.

Required: MN electrical maintenance license or ability to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.

Preferred: AS in Electronics or a related technical field.

Desired: Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs military electronics training and HVAC/boiler electrical experience.


Knowledge & Skills:

Required: Basic computer proficiency with MS Office programs.

Desired: Experience with PLC systems like Allen Bradley and ControlLogix.

Required: Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems independently and as part of a team.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift/move up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally (team lift).

Comfort with working in industrial environments with heavy machinery.


Certifications & Training:

Confined space and respirator certification (provided upon hire).

MN electrical maintenance license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.


Background & Screening:

Must be able to pass a background check physical exam and drug screening.
