Way back in 2012 we created a brand new outdoor cooking category with our first portable woodfired pizza oven. Now the Ooni lineup includes gas electric and multifuel pizza ovens as well as nonpizza oven cool stuff like our Halo Pro spiral mixer; all of which help you bake amazing Neapolitan pizza at home. We sell Ooni pizza ovens accessories and groceries around the world and have an expanding (and amazing) global Ooni user community who love our products and use them to make epic pizza for friends and family.
A Little About the Role
At Ooni we want to help everybody experience the joy of making great pizza. Our team helping us do so has grown hugely over the past few years and with them so have our spaces and equipment. This is an exciting time for Ooni as we embark on setting even higher standards of excellence and as a result were looking for a handson and adaptable Health Safety & Facilities Manager to help us keep the good ship Ooni sailing smoothly.
This role is undeniably busy. About half of the job is focused on making sure that our workspaces are practically set up for the demands of our work and are kept running smoothly with an eye for detail quality and cost control in all of our facilities management. While youll maintain a preferred supplier list for most work we also take an attitude of roll your sleeves up and problem solve so ideally youll also be willing and able to jump in and design practical solutions by yourself where possible. Youll make sure all regular required inspections and services are carried out equipment and materials on site are appropriately documented and stored and honestly spend more time than anyone should be doing battling with either the A/C our access control systems or the hot water taps. The three seem to have some kind of secret alliance going on where they can never all be working at the same time.
While we arent manufacturing onsite we have a busy product office at Ooni Park in Broxburn West Lothian where our team are handson designing prototyping testing and demonstrating our ovens. Our ovens get HOT. They have sharp bits of metal involved theres combustible gases theres powered equipment forklifts and all sorts of dangerous things floating around. The other side of this job is making sure that our teams have the right knowledge tools and support to carry out their job in a safe way despite these dangers and that everyone goes home with all of their fingers toes and eyebrow hairs present and correct. The most discomfort anyone feels after a day of work should be from a tootight waistband after going one slice too far at lunch.
While we know that life happens and youll need days from time to time to work from home to balance that or to focus on administrative work we expect that the majority of your working time in this role (min. 4 days per week) will be spent onsite. Your normal place of work will be our site in Broxburn West Lothian but once per week or so well also need you to visit our office at Edinburgh Park.
