Job Description

Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Waltham MA. As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our medical robotic device meets compliance standards. The ideal candidate will lead the electrical design documentation testing and troubleshooting efforts ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will work closely with Embedded System and Mechanical Engineers to specify and design solutions to complex realworld problems. As a seniorlevel contributor you will have a large impact on the architecture and direction of our electrical systems. Previous experience bringing a product through regulatory stages and into production is a huge plus (but not required).

This is a terrific opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineering professional to join our company at a very exciting time and be a key member of a team of missiondriven and kind individuals with diverse experiences to lead Vicarious into market distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of electrical design documentation including specifications schematics and test protocols in compliance with FDA ICE ISO and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct and oversee electrical testing and verification activities including design verification validation testing and performance testing.
  • Manage the troubleshooting and resolution of electrical design issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Specifying designing and building electrical hardware for complex robotic systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Embedded Engineers to support processing and sensing needs.
  • Collaborate closely with QA to support all the regulatory paperwork and testing.
  • Manage component selection schematic capture and board layout in Altium.
  • Development of board testers and production test equipment.
  • Board failure diagnostics.

About You

  • 5 years of electrical systems design experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Class II or III Medical device experience (IEC 60601 /.
  • Familiarity with Altium.
  • Working knowledge of common communication interfaces (SPI I2C USB CAN etc).
  • Experience with high speed sampling routing and impedance control.
  • Hands on experience on BLDC electric motors and power electronics.
  • Working knowledge of Python and Labview.
  • Experience designing & testing flex circuits and densely packed small circuit boards.
  • Experience with test planning and design documentation.
  • Experience with EMI EMC ESD and shielding strategies.
  • Working experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
