InternationalDevelopment Group is actively seeking a Specialist who will support projectsfrom implementation through closeout. Thisindividual will support a varied portfolio of projects worldwide and will work under the guidance of a Managerto undertake various financial contractual management administrative andtechnical assistance tasks. For this positionIDG is seeking a detailoriented selfdriven and highly organizedindividual who takes ownership over assigned tasks has strong problemsolving skills seeks new challenges and can manage multiple priorities in afastpaced environment under tight deadlines. The Specialist reportsto a Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operations
  • Providesupport for ongoing international development and economic policy projectsworldwide assisting in overall project implementation award through projectcloseout.
  • Providedirect daytoday support to field officesincluding communicating and assistingwith fieldoffice requests and overseeing the field teams adherence tocontract requirements and government regulations.
  • Prepare andreview approval requests for projectrelated activities; monitor compliancewith approval requests.
  • Coordinatefinancial aspects of the assigned projects by reviewing monthly invoices toensure accuracy and compliance with contract provisions.
  • Take responsibility for monitoring monthly costs using project budget projections fileand other budget monitoring tools tracking contract expenditures againstbudget and total obligated funds.
  • Review anddetermine causes for variances to the budget and ensure that senior managementis aware of the status of budget performance and driving factors.
  • Facilitatehome and field office activities for assigned contracts and ensure effectiveand efficient coordination between the relevant offices.
  • Applycurrent U.S. and host country regulations and laws as well as IDG policies andprocedures to contract implementation.
  • Support recruiting of personnel as required.
  • Draft and monitor consultant and subcontractor contracts.
  • Prepare andreview accrual pipeline andcosttocomplete reports for IDG and clients as necessary.
  • Contribute to project technical work performance/progress monitoringand project deliverables including writing critical reviews and providingthoughtful comments as needed.
  • Format project technical deliverables with the proper branding requirements established by the contract upload to theDEC and/or properly archive in the home office filing system.


Business
Development

  • Lead and/or coordinate the production and submission of proposals expressions of interest andcapabilities statements.
  • Take a leadership role in ensuring proposal compliance with RFP requirements and verifying consistency between technical and cost proposals.
  • Providesupport for cost proposals including serving as the cost assistant/budget preparer and preparing key costinputs.
  • Serve in various supporting roles on proposal teams engaging in one ormore of the following: technicalwriting technical research costproposal support past performance writeups corporate capabilities resumeformatting and/or reviewing expatriate and localpersonnel recruitment and managing communications with potential and selected subcontractors.
  • Assist in preRFP capture activities includingcollecting preliminary documentation participating in capture strategymeetings conducting research etc.
  • Support other ad hoc new business activities as requested.


Other Tasks

  • Engage inhome office operations tasks from timetotime including developing andleading trainings on processes and policies assisting with finance tasks for the AccountingDepartment supporting the IDG communications team etc.
  • Directly manage home office interns and mentor and train Project Coordinators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years ofprofessional work experience isrequired including previous project coordination/management experience (operations logistics administrative support budget management preparing written deliverables ensuring compliance etc.; experience in international developmentor international affairs is preferred.
  • Bachelors degreein a relevant field is required a masters degree is strongly preferred in a relevant fieldwhich may include international development economics public administration etc.
  • Technical interest and/or background (including academic coursework) inIDG areas of expertise strongly preferred: private sector developmentinternational trade monitoring and evaluation
