Repair Dispatch Manager Primary Responsibilities:

  • Liaise among marketing companies centers repair shops vendors and occasionally customers.
  • Route and schedule mobile repair technicians to complete needed repairs.
  • Monitor equipment in the field to strategically plan maintenance.
  • Oversee transfer drivers.
  • Work closely with Roadside Assistance Team members.
  • Organize maintenance campaigns and initiatives.
  • Prospect and maintain relationships with service providers
  • Review and audit repair records.
  • Monitor outside garages for quality of work performed on UHaul rental equipment.
  • Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the repair department ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Coordinate repair schedules and dispatch technicians to locations based on priority and availability.
  • Monitor repair progress and communicate updates to management and customers as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and suppliers to ensure quality service and timely parts delivery.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime for UHaul vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all repair operations.
  • Train mentor and evaluate team members to promote professional growth and maintain high performance standards.
  • Analyze repair data and reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall operational efficiency.



Dispatch Manager minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to work on call
  • General mechanical knowledge
  • Multiunitstyle management experience
  • Communicate professionally and eager to collaborate with others.
  • Proficient computer skills (especially Microsoft Office)
  • Reasonable and predictable attendance
  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in automotive technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive repair with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficient in using repair management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Valid drivers license and a good driving record.
  • Willing to work all federal holidays except Christmas day.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions e.g. working around moving parts machines fumes or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks goggles gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary traversing spaces repositioning to reach and use tools and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
