Job Description
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking Summer 2025 Systems Engineer Interns to join our Internal Research & Development (IRAD) program which will be conducted in our Herndon VA West Lafayette IN or Blacksburg VA offices.
Join our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center and support exciting advanced research projects in areas such as communications space cybersecurity defense health and mobile. Youll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative supportive environment with our fulltime staff allowing you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains. Youll work in an Agile software development environment supporting areas such as requirements/story development IT integration cloud computing DevSecOps and automated testing. Youll also get the chance to obtain certifications in leading technologies to enhance your skills such as Amazon Web Services.
We ask that each intern be available to work the duration of the ten weeks (June to August) and commit to working a minimum of 3540 hours per week. This program is geared toward technical college students actively enrolled at a fouryear university who will be rising into their junior or senior years. However strong underclassmen may be considered if they have declared their major and have completed qualified coursework.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Have completed progress toward a bachelors degree in systems engineering computer engineering electrical engineering information systems or a related field.
- Familiarity with one or more objectoriented or scripting programming languages and exposure to software engineering processes.
- Handson engineering experience through coursework and/or prior internships.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts.
- Selfmotivated independent detail oriented responsible teamplayer.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- 3.0 and above GPA.
- Exposure to Agile software development processes.
- Exposure to Windows and Linux operating systems database technologies web application. servers and/or automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with application or network installations configuration and/or administration.
- Exposure to cloud computing technologies.
