Job Summary/Basic Functions
An Interpreter facilitates communication between current students who are deaf/hard of hearing in all academic aspects of the university experience. Including but not limited to classroom lectures academic advising field trips and internships.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree is required.
Experience: Two 2 years of directly related experience is required.
Equivalency: Education or native like ASL skills may substitute for experience
Licensure & Certifications: Level III
National Interpreting Certification is required and must be a member in good standing
Full Interpreting License is required and must be maintained
Level II
License/Certification
Temporary Interpreting License is required and must be maintained.
Must be actively working towards National Interpreting Certification
Sponsorship:Visa sponsorship will be considered on a casebycase basis depending upon the needs of the unit available sponsorship budget and the qualifications of the candidate.
