Job Summary:
The purpose of the Air Entanglement Operator is responsible for operating air entanglement machines (includes air entanglement processes of: conventional tacktwist and rotojet) where materials are used in the production of carpet fibers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Place yarn packages on creel checking against work order to verify correct yarn lots
- Remove empty tubes from creel and determine if it is to be recycled through process or discarded
- Load empty tubes in machine
- Consistently watch lines for any quality issues
- Remove completed packages of yarn from doff belt and pack yarn on buggies
- Maintain standard clean and safe work environment
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. up to 5 feet consistently throughout the shift.
- Ability to carry a minimum of 20 lbs. up to a distance of 200 feet.
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift.
- Aptitude to pass a color vision test if needed
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read and write and do basic addition subtraction division and multiplication.
- Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job but will train.
Other Requirements:
- Overtime is required on occasion.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Safety equipment must be worn as required.
- Report to management any quality safety or potential problems encountered while performing the job.
- Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
