This position is primarily involved in oversight of all accounting aspects related to Healthpeaks portfolio of Outpatient Medical properties. Responsible for overseeing the teams preparation of timely and accurate reporting of daytoday operations managing and executing the financial reporting and tenant lease review. Lead mentor and develop a team of property accountants fostering a collaborative and highperformance culture.
Serve as a key advisor to management on all accounting matters related to property transactions and portfolio performance.
Act as a liaison between the accounting department and property management teams to ensure smooth communication and alignment of goals.
Provide strategic insights and financial analysis related to property performance and provide explanations to management as needed.
Review nancial statement packages including journal entries general ledger review bank reconciliations and balance sheet support schedules.
Coordinate monthend close and production of financial statements to guarantee timely reporting.
Review annual property budgets and analyze variances.
Review audit schedules and respond to auditor requests during financial audits SOX audits or any other audits.
Interpret complex lease language.
Review CAM reconciliations.
Review and help solve all issues and document response to all review comments generated.
Establish resolution plans for complex tenant issues including researching and determining the best points of contact to collaborate on resolution.
Review nancials for errors/issues and determine what adjusting entries are needed.
Review Accounts Receivables and advise on application adjustments.
Identify and investigate potential AR exposures and determine which balances to escalate to management team.
Complete adhoc projects
Adhere to internal accounting policies and procedures.
Independently manage and determine priority of outstanding tasks and research requests.
Assist in the set up and transitions of properties which may include loading beginning balance information sales proratio calculations and closing entries.
Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Accounting or directly related field required.
CPA Preferred
8 years of experience with at least 5 years in property accounting with increasing responsibility.
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to develop mentor and lead a highperforming accounting team.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Proficient in real estate accounting software (Yardi preferred)
Leasing related experience a plus.
Attention to detail and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
Trustworthy and preservers confidentiality.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills to develop solutions and recommendations.
Excellent listening oral and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret information such as online research instructions contracts and procedure manuals.
Excellent time management skills with ability to reprioritize work.
Ability to work independently and be a selfstarter.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel Word and Outlook).
