POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Commercial Insurance will be responsible for working alongside and reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Lines to deliver the strategic vision of the brokerage. This individual will be a positive dynamic and strong people leader who desires the challenge of leading inspiring and mentoring frontline client account manager teams in a hybrid and flexible work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading inspiring and supporting a frontline broker team implenting on the brokerages overall strategy operating plan administrative budgets and processes
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with insurance company partners
- Coaching mentoring and developing Commercial Insurance team members to achieve desired personal and organizational objectives
- Leading managing and establishing performance expectations for multiple high performing teams
- Strategizing with high performing teams and leadership members on key accounts
- Developing and establishing operating policies consistent with their strategic objectives and ensuring their adequate
- Collaborating with the VP Commercial Insurance on financial measurements and analysis to evaluate and establish business operations and to forecast hiring decisions
- In collaboration with the VP Commercial Insurance on the department budget goal setting and annual compensation increases
- Maintaining best practices while ensuring compliance and establishing new ones to stay competitive in the insurance marketplace
- Exhibiting leadership style that fosters a culture of innovation creativity accountability and collaboration
- Participating in the development and preparation of shortterm and longrange plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives
REQUIREMENTS
- RIBO licensed in good standing
- Minimum 57 years commercial experience preferably in an insurance brokerage
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role
- CAIB CRM CIP or FCIP designation an asset
- Proficient on EPIC & CSR 24 an asset
- Experience in Office 365
- Indepth knowledge of insurance brokerage business practices and processes
- Understand how products and services impact client needs and develop processes to improve quality
- A team player who is friendly and collaborative
- Strong initiative leadership and strategic thinking
- Ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization
- Exceptional communication collaboration and negotiation skills required to affect change and to build
