Ochsner Childrens Hospital is seeking an experienced physician leader with vision and passion to serve asSection Head Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in New Orleans Louisiana. The successful candidate will join three faculty to lead and grow this program to increase the number of children being cared for at Ochsner. Additional training and experience in bone marrow transplant and/or stem cell transplant is desirable.

The successful candidate will possess proven leadership teambuilding and managerial experience. Areas of administrative responsibility include physician recruiting budgetary performance productivity quality patient satisfaction goals and medical staff management.

Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Childrens) represents over 270 physicians. The group is the regions leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns infants children adolescents and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation liver and bone marrow transplantation a comprehensive surgical subspecialty group and the regions only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center.

We recently announced the building of a new comprehensive dedicated Childrens Hospital on our main campus with expected opening in 2027.

We currently care for patients in a 67bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit a 14bed PICU a 12bed pediatric CVICU a 4bed epilepsy monitoring unit and a 44bed pediatric acute unit with a dedicated pediatric emergency room and fulltime regionwide inhouse pediatric and neonatal transport teams.

In addition to patient care Ochsner Childrens Hospital has an ACGMEaccredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the TulaneOchsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint allopathic College of Medicine.
