Job Description

Beyond Linux/VMware System Administrator IV functions the Technical Expert (TE) provides leadership in developing cuttingedge solutions strategies and protocols for the HPC Infrastructure environment. They handle the most complex challenges lead research and development initiatives architect and design initiatives and provide expert consultations to Program Managers and IT staff. Technical Experts are expected to set educational performance standards for the technical team. TEs are also responsible for maintaining technical working aids creating and developing standard operating procedures and conducting technical exchanges and leading brown bag sessions.
Due to federal contract requirements United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities
- Configuration tuning testing and advanced level troubleshooting and support of high performance filesystems such as XFS GPFS and Lustre
- Advanced level troubleshooting and support of HPC farm systems and associated applications such as Nagios xcat failover software and compilers
- Working knowledge of HPC MPP systems
- Configuration tuning testing and advanced level troubleshooting and support of distributed computing tools such as RES LSF and SLURM.
- Configuration tuning testing and advanced level troubleshooting of RedHat and SuSe operating systems
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
- TECHNICAL EXPERTFUNCTIONAL EXPERT shall have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and have at least eight 8 years in a large and complex IT environment providing industry and government recognized functional expertise.
- The individual shall have five 5 years of full lime computer science work that can substitute for the Bachelors degree and have at least eight years in a large and complex IT environment providing industry and government recognized functional expertise.
- A Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two 2 years experience.
- An industry recognized professional certification may substitute as one year experience.

Accepted Professional Certifications
- Valid RHCSA or higher Red Hat certification
- Valid V M Ware certification
- IAT Level II Certification Required
