Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer
Herndon VA
Use your electrical engineering skills to pave the wayfor tomorrows advancementin lidar laser and space exploration. Fibertek is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Herndon VA location to contribute to the development of laser products within our R&D team. By taking on both short and longterm projects you will use your versatility to bring uncharted laser research to the aerospace industry.
Job Duties
Youll collaborate with some of the smartest minds in Electrical Mechanical and Optical engineering. You will have a manageable workload and have the benefit of both your team and senior leadership support. In developing verifying and upgrading the electronics in Fiberteks electrooptical systems you willperform andmanage a wide range of engineering tasks including circuit board development firmware (FPGA & CPU) development cable/harness design documentation. This will also include board and systemlevel integration and testing and troubleshooting. You will work on multiple concurrent projects with a mix of small short quickturn projects and more extensive longterm projects.
Required Skills and Experience
To succeed in this Senior Electrical Engineer role youll need the below expertise and experience- BSEE with 8 years of applicable work experience
- Experience with circuit board design integration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with FPGA/CPLD design simulation and troubleshooting.
- Experience using electrical lab equipment as part of circuit development integration and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Bonus Areas
- MSEE or PhD
- Experience with hirel military and/or spaceflight hardware development
- Experience with FPGA/CPLD design simulation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with LIDAR systems
