Risk Control Specialist

What youll do:

Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) has an opening for a traveling Risk Control Specialist covering multiple areas of Colorado. This hybrid workfromhome/office position will need to reside/relocate in the Greater Denver Metro Area of Colorado. Other residential areas of Colorado may be considered.

Under the direction of the Risk Control Supervisor and the department manager the position is responsible for safety risk management environmental and health guidance general consultation program audits and infrastructure and property surveys for municipal governments that are CIRSA members. Training development and delivery may be required periodically such as webinars classroom and handson safety and health training.

The position will be expected to travel regularly throughout the year sometimes as much as 3 4 days per week with overnight stays expected. While this position will primarily service areas within 23 hours of Denver travel throughout all regions of Colorado and in all weather conditions will be required. A CIRSA vehicle will be assigned for travel.

Position Hiring Range:

The salary range for the position is $66100 $102400 annually depending on qualifications.

What You Bring to CIRSA:

• A bachelors degree in safety risk management or an equivalent field is desired.
• At least 5 years of fulltime handson safety/risk management experience is desired.
• Knowledge of municipal operations i.e. public works water wastewater transportation utilities parks and recreation facilities general industry and construction safety.
• A CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification at the time of hire or have the ability to become certified within two years of the hire date.
• Other certifications such as the ASP (Associate Safety Professional) and the OHST (Occupational Safety & Health Technologist) may be considered.
• A valid Drivers License is required.
