Job Description Summary
An instructor in this position will conduct inperson college courses for undergraduate or high school students in Art Appreciation. They must possess the knowledge and skills to teach and supervise students in the classroom. The individual must also possess the knowledge of online instruction synchronous online instruction and Zoom instruction.
Duties
1. Teach Art courses and supervise students in a variety of times and formats (day online hybrid 14 or 16 weeks) with contact hours per week ranging as assigned. Some offcampus teaching may be required (Madison site T.C. Roberson and Nesbitt HS Academy. 2. Supervise and teach students in the classroom and/or lab setting. 3. Develop class syllabus teaching materials activities and handouts for each section/class taught. 4. Prepare and deliver lectures. 5. Utilize Moodle software platform. 6. Abide by all policies standards goals and objectives of the College the Arts & Sciences Division and the Department. 7. Participate in assessment planning implementation and evaluation of activities to improve instructional quality. 8. Maintain accurate student records Moodle grade book and attendance; 9. Maintain good communication with the department chairperson peers High School Liason and Principles as well as students. 10. Ability to work as a team. 11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
1. Masters degree in Art or Masters degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Art (Not Art Education). 2. Oneyear teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Successful teaching experience: Community college teaching experience preferred. 2. Experience with hybrid or online teaching in Moodle. 3. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish an East Slavic language and/or American Sign Language.
