Specific Responsibilities Include:
Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests invoices or orders to verify accuracy.
Record shipment data such as weight charges space availability damages or discrepancies for reporting accounting or recordkeeping purposes.
Prepare documents such as work orders bills of lading or shipping orders to route materials. See more occupations related to this task.
Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages shortages or nonconformance to specifications. Pack seal label or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools power tools or postage meter.
Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count. Investigate and report reasons for discrepancies.
Pull package and ship orders.
Run Ship Manager for FedEx UPS Worldwide among others for both international and domestic shipments.
Use a pointofsale system and understand the sales order process.
Order and maintain stock of shipping materials such as boxes packaging paper and tape.
Send daily order confirmations via Outlook.
