Responsibilities & Requirements

The faculty members role is to facilitate effective learning in online and on ground courses for Kettering College Health Science and Kettering Path students.

Responsibilities

Faculty are responsible for effective instruction of students organization of course learning materials in a manner that facilitates student learning student evaluation communication of student progress and grades in a timely fashion. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provision of a course syllabus in accordance with the Colleges Syllabus Standardization format.
  • Progression of learning outcomes and objectives in an organized and logical fashion aimed toward fulfillment of course outcomes.
  • Design and implementation of teaching strategies/learning opportunities in accordance with the curriculum framework which help students fulfill the course outcomes.
  • Supervision of guest lecturers if applicable such that course outcomes can be fulfilled.
  • Assistance and/or referral to students who need additional support for their learning.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to health science curriculum plan if applicable.
  • Timely feedback to students regarding assignments quizzes exams and other learning activities.
  • Communication and submission of student grades in accordance with department and College policies and procedures.

Faculty will:

  1. Support the mission vision and values of the College in all professional relationships.
  2. Be a strong contributor to all appropriate teams exhibiting Christian collegiality in team relationships.
  3. Meet professional obligations such as office hours deadlines submission of required documents.
  4. Be knowledgeable of the curriculum and effectively uses evidencebased clinical teaching approaches.
  5. Design workflow to facilitate service to students.
  6. Meet professional obligations student appointments adjunct faculty workshops and updates and deadlines.
  7. Professionally helps students even when their anger distress or other conditions make learning difficult.
  8. Communicate skillfully and compassionately with others.
  9. Participate regularly in appropriate meetings and faculty development activities including those sponsored by the College the Medical Center and professional organizations if required.
  10. Anticipate change adapts smoothly to change and when appropriate effects change.
  11. Exhibit a positive response to constructive criticism from leadership.
  12. Know and adheres to college policies and procedures.
  13. Use college resources efficiently.
  14. Complete all mandatory education competencies in a timely manner as identified.
  15. Routinely evaluate own learning needs and exhibit continuously improving outcomes.
  16. Stay professionally current.
  17. Assist with Departmental Advising of Students and student progression and retention efforts aimed toward preparation for postgraduate success.

Education

  • Masters degree required from an approved and accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate preferred.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
