The Assistant Director of Housekeeping plays a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction at our establishment. Working closely with the Director of Housekeeping the Assistant Director will be responsible for supervising housekeeping staff managing daily operations and ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the housekeeping department. This role is crucial in upholding the resorts reputation for exceptional guest service and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Assist in the supervision and coordination of housekeeping staff providing leadership and support to ensure daily tasks are carried out efficiently.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness order and presentation throughout the establishment ensuring that guest expectations are met or exceeded.
- Work Scheduling: Collaborate with the Director of Housekeeping to plan and manage work schedules that align with peak occupancy periods and special events.
- Property Inspection: Assist in conducting regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Innovation and Improvement: Stay updated on new cleaning instruments and methods and contribute to their implementation to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Performance Evaluations: Assist in conducting 90-day and yearly performance evaluations for housekeeping staff providing feedback and setting performance goals.
- Budget Support: Collaborate with the Director of Housekeeping to manage the departments budget including monitoring expenses and recommending cost-effective strategies.
- Financial Management: Understand the financial impact of the departments operations on the propertys financial goals and objectives contributing to budget achievement.
- Guest Satisfaction: Assist the Director in ensuring that the resorts service standards are consistently met resulting in exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Team Development: Support the development coaching mentoring and training of the housekeeping team to foster a culture of excellence.
- Other Duties: Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.
Desired experience:
A qualified individual will possess a proven track record in a leadership hotel housekeeping team of a resort of at least 200 rooms or more for 3 to 5 years. A flexible schedule with 7 days per week availability open to working any days any shift is a must. Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.

- Associate degree or higher level of education
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
