Job Description
Job Title: Sprinkler Foreman
Job Summary: eTEC Fire Protection seeks a Sprinkler Foreman Fitters and helpers with experience in Commercial Construction in Richmond Virginia. This position will work from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead foreman for crew
- Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job plans and specifications.
- Inspect work sites to determine presence of obstructions.
- Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
- Cut pipe using hacksaw pipe cutters hammer and chisel cutting torch and pipe cutting machine.
- Thread pipe using threading machine.
- Bend pipe by hand or with pipebending machine.
- Assemble and install variety of metal and nonmetal pipe and pipe fittings including those made of brass copper and plastic.
- Join piping by means of threaded grooved or cemented joints.
- Secure pipes to structure with clamps brackets and hangers using hand tools.
- Test piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Lift and carry objects of varying weights
- Detect recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have the following skills knowledge and experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree GED.
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to use power tools and equipment commonly used in the construction trade in a safe manner.
- Physical activities including standing balancing climbing stairs and ladders walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. are required.
