Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and selfdriven individual to join the Murdoch team as a Therapy Assistant on a Permanent Part time basis.
Location
Aegis Murdoch is the latest Residence in the Aegis Group providing exceptional care including Permanent Transitional as well as Respite Care in a stateoftheart safe and comfortable environment.Located adjacent to Fiona Stanley Hospital in the new Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct the Residential Aged Care Facility is due to open in May 2024.Developed with an innovative multistorey design Aegis Murdoch incorporates seven floors of accommodation.Each of these floors offers 26 single rooms with their own private ensuite and access to their balcony allowing residents to take advantage of the expansive views.For residents with Dementia Aegis Murdoch offers a Memory Support Floor with a specifically designed care environment and access to a large secure ground floor garden courtyard.
As an integral part of the team you will:
- Provide mobility and exercise programs to our Residents under the direction and supervision of the Physiotherapist.
- Provide recreational and other Therapeutic activity programs to our Residents under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
- Participate in the organisation and planning of Therapy programs.
- Deliver a range of Therapybased activity programs as directed.
- Complete accurate documentation in line with relevant guidelines.
- Accompany Resident groups on outings.

Requirements of the role
- Hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent.
- A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher or experience. (Desirable but not essential) .
- Have experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Have empathy with the elderly.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
