Dean of Students
Reports directly to the School Principal and serves as a member of the administrative staff.
Bachelors degree in educationrelated field required; Masters degree is preferred.
Fulltime 1.0 FTE; Average 40 Hours/Week for 12Months)
Summary of Position
As Dean of Students you are primarily responsible for overseeing student life maintaining a positive Christian culture addressing disciplinary issues and supporting students spiritual development all while aligning with the schools Biblical values and mission often including direct involvement in student mentoring leadership development and conflict resolution.
The Dean of Students role goes beyond traditional disciplinary functions and includes actively promoting spiritual growth and character development within the student body. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong personal faith be passionate about Christian education and be capable of integrating Biblical teachings into daily interactions with students. This position requires a collaborative approach working closely with teachers counselors administrators and parents to support students holistically.

Functions and Duties
- Student Discipline and Behavior Management
- Enforce school policies and address disciplinary issues in accordance with Christian principles.
- Investigate student incidents conduct disciplinary meetings and implement appropriate consequences.
- Communicate with students parents and teachers regarding behavior concerns.
- Spiritual Development and Character Building
- Integrate Christian values into daily school life through activities assemblies and curriculum.
- Lead or facilitate small group Bible studies or devotional sessions for students faculty and/or staff.
- Provide spiritual guidance and support to students facing personal challenges.
- Student Leadership and Engagement
- Oversee student government and leadership organizations.
- Promote positive student engagement through extracurricular activities and events.
- Mentor student leaders and develop leadership skills
- Student Welfare and Support
- Monitor student attendance academic progress and overall wellbeing.
- Collaborate with counselors and other support staff to address student needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students experiencing personal challenges.
- Community Building and Communication
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with Christian values.
- Communicate effectively with parents faculty and staff regarding student issues and school initiatives.
- General Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of administrative duties to assist the School Principal in managing the school; assumes the duties of School Principal in the absence of the School Principal and as assigned.
- Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with school policies; receives referrals and confers with students parents and teachers; responds to and resolves parent student and staff concerns and complaints; serves on discipline committees as assigned. Leads development of intervention strategies.
- Assists staff with the creation and alignment of classroom student behavioral expectations and classroom management plans.
- Manages the documentation of student behavior through the student management system; Renweb/FACTS.
- Supervises students on campus before and after school; monitors students during lunch recess passing periods and other activities; instructs students in appropriate behavior.
- Provides leadership for attendance improvement efforts; calls parent and attends meetings as needed regarding absent or tardy students.
- Oversees event management (transportation school events etc.; attends meetings of parents and other groups.
- Works with the School Principal and the school safety team to establish a safe and secure learning environment for students including developing and implementing plans for emergency situations. Responsible for updates to the school safety plan.
