We are seekingCivil Mechanical and Electrical Studentsfor ourCanadian Industrial Divisionto work as anEstimating Studentin ourEdmonton ABoffice.We are looking for students that are availablefor4 or 8 monthsstarting in September2022.The positions willbe under the direct supervisor of aChief Estimator.
As anEstimating Studentand depending on your assigned project you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
Responsibilities
- Understanding and utilizing PCLs estimating manuals systems and forms
- Reviewing quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
- Performing assigned quantity survey
- Providing quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
- Transferring and reviewing quantities with lead estimator
- Performing general subtrade solicitation duties
- Bid document control
- Performing bid day assignments
- Visiting job sites periodically
- Developing relationships with trade contractors
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical electrical or civil major.
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required including Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset.
