Job Description

This role is parttime 3 days a week in office. Candidates must be located within commutable distance to the companys headquarters in Herndon Virginia. Relocation assistance is not available.

SUMMARY

The Finance Intern will assist the Accounting and Finance team in ensuring the accurate processing and compliance of all aspects of the Associations payroll while providing backup and learning other finance functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process weekly and/or biweekly multistate payroll utilizing the inhouse UKG software.
  • Process levies liens and other employee garnishments.
  • Process payroll reports.
  • Process union benefit invoices for timely payment.
  • Process manual checks for employee deductions union plans and payroll related disbursements.
  • Assist with journal entries to record payroll expenses and liabilities.
  • Prepare payroll and benefit related general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Provide backup support for other accounting transactional processes including accounts payable accounts receivable journal entries and
  • Train in cash management and treasury processes supporting daily reporting and analytics.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of the payroll process and reconciliation which will include monitoring the balancing and data entry processes.

  • Working knowledge of desktop applications is essential and payroll software preferred.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Be working towards a degree in Accounting or Finance OR at least 1 years of experience processing multistate payroll.
