Job Purpose Water conservation is one of the biggest concerns in Colorado and Resource Centrals Slow the Flow program partners with over 30 Colorado municipalities and water providers to empower residents to save water through efficient irrigation practices. The Lead Water Conservation Technician will play an essential role in the Slow the Flow program by completing sprinkler system checkups installing smart irrigation controllers and rain sensors and supporting other staff. This is a fieldbased conservation role that involves driving from home to appointments daily and providing outstanding customer service. Fieldwork is along the Colorado Front Range primarily in and around the greater Denver area. The position starts May 12 2025 and is expected to last into September 2025. Compensation includes $21.00/hr mileage reimbursement cell phone stipend paid training and paid sick leave. Principal Responsibilities

The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Become an expert on sprinkler system operation smart irrigation controller and rain sensor installations and Resource Centrals Slow the Flow processes and procedures; we provide training.
  • Provide leadership to help train and support 15 field staff on Slow the Flow water conservation services.
  • Conduct sprinkler system checkups at homes and other properties to conserve water and improve system performance.
  • Install smart irrigation controllers and rain sensors on sprinkler systems and educate homeowners on their use.
  • Travel from home to worksite locations daily; we provide mileage reimbursement.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings in person online and on the phone.
  • Assist with other Slow the Flow tasks or Resource Central programs as assigned and help build a positive collaborative and resultsoriented team.
  • Contribute to a strong sense of belonging where everyone can feel welcomed and included.

Qualifications

  • Must be passionate about helping people conserve water.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age upon start date; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid drivers license automobile insurance daily access to a reliable automobile and a smartphone required.
  • Must pass a background check and driving record evaluation if offered a position.
  • Daily travel along the Colorado Front Range primarily in the greater Denver area required. Travel to other cities including an extended commute or overnight stay required at times; we provide travel pay and accommodations.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds walk continuously throughout the workday kneel lift and bend repeatedly required.
  • Ability to safely work outdoors in all kinds of weather including high temperatures and rain required.
  • Experience using a drill and basic hand tools (hammer screwdriver level etc. preferred.
  • Customer service training or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in fieldwork landscaping sprinklers or sustainability preferred.
