Job Description

EPSI Worx is seeking an experienced Health IT Software Architect to join a clients team as an Interoperability Engineer.

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Job Description:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) ElectronicHealth Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRMIO) as an InteroperabilityEngineer.

Serveas technical leader in support of ongoing operations andcontinued monitoring for joint EHR platforms specifically HealtheIntentEnterprise Data Warehouse and health registries with integrated interfaceshardware and infrastructures that span across multiple federal agency andprivate sector environments supporting OEHRM Interoperable data exchangeimplementations.

Acts as highestlevel technical expertaddressing problems of systems integration compatibility healthcaresemantics informatics and multiple platforms.

Identify potential technical risks tolargescale system to system interface efforts.

Support any Major Incident or other responseefforts and support the identification of root causes courses of actions andpotential solutions.

Monitor scalability availabilityperformance and engineering best practices for a largescale EHR system anddata warehouse and make recommendations to support multiple concurrentdeployments.

Assess validate and optimize infrastructureendtoend systems and architecture.

Buildand validate test environments identify servers and interconnections.

Provide guidance to government executives andtechnical teams on issues best practices and optimal methods.

Support indepth engineering analysis andproviding testing expertise with regards to understanding impacts to Cernerintegration from patches.

Conduct analyses of existing and proposed datastructures syntax and semantics to understand potential changes based onpatch changes.

Support adhoc engineeringanalyses in response to incidents to analyze optimization opportunities.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional work experience.
  • Experience independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare/clinical environment
  • Ability to perform as highestlevel technical expert addressing problems of systems integration compatibility healthcare semantics informatics and multiple platforms
  • Experience seeing projects to completion
  • Experience performing feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
  • Experience and knowledge with HealtheIntent
  • Bachelors degree in Healthcare IT computer science electronics engineering engineering or technical related field or an additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Significant experience in network engineering 10 years) with 5 years on largescale systems
  • Experience with Network Engineering and Internetworking
  • Experience with enterprise network concepts (MPLS prioritization segmentation load balancing segmentation continuity of operations)
  • Experience with scalability analysis and modeling
  • Experience with system (endtoend) performance assessment and optimization
  • Experience with VA and DOD legacy data private sector data (Health Information Exchange) and Interoperability EHR Viewers
  • Systems integration experience
