DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a High Voltage Electrician you will expertly handle various skilled tasks involving voltage levels up to 66000 volts. Your role will encompass installing testing repairing and maintaining different electrical machinery devices and associated equipment. You will proficiently work with complex electrical systems splice underground wires test standby generators and troubleshoot electrical issues to ensure seamless service. Your commitment to safety is paramount and you will strictly adhere to established procedures and safety guidelines while working with advanced equipment. You will also play a crucial role in efficiently operating diverse components within the electrical generation and distribution system.
Your work will occur in key locations including the Harrisburg Capitol Complex the Governors Residence the Lieutenant Governors Residence and the Regional Office Buildings. You will confidently navigate challenging environments often working at heights exceeding 60 feet on small platforms and confined spaces such as manholes and vaults. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment; 37.5 hours per week.
- The work scheduled consists of a 5day 16hour a day operation and is subject to shift work with a 30minute lunch.
- This is considered an essential position. You will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of a High Voltage Electrician Training program;or
- Six years of journeylevel electrical experience including eighteen months of experience in high voltage electrical work.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Drivers License.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid Master Electrician License from a recognized licensing authority but must obtain a Master Electrician License from the City of Harrisburg before the end of the sixmonth probationary period.
Additional Requirements:
- This position is located at 509 North 7th Street Harrisburg PA. You must be willing and able to report to this location daily for work.
- You must be willing and able to work different shifts.
- You must be able to work in confined spaces.
- You must have at least 18 months industrial/commercial style switchgear experience.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Possess computer/technologies experience in any of the following: Word Excel AIM work order ESS system smart phone email
- Experience working from ladders scaffolding bucket truck or manlifts while following safety procedures
